Partagas Coronas – somehow titan tasting

Written by feltedhat on . Posted in Cuban Cigar Review

Initialy we planned to conduct another tasting of the titans similar to what has been done with the Quintero Chruchills. But in the end it was down to lestat and me. I must say that sometimes you simply can not plan live and just go with it. πŸ™‚

Lestat offered to bring some cigars to the lounge in Kreuzlingen and he surprised me with one of my favorites: Partagas Coronas and they were from 2002! When the box was opened I thought they look like chocolate cigars, they were so dark and a little shiny. Upon the first inspection it was clear that it was 100% Cuban tobacco. Boy, we were in for a treat!

I brought some tasting sheets and I was afraid one would not be enough for Lestat as he writes down so many interessting things and thoughts. But as you can see in the sheet below he behaved very well this time. πŸ™‚ And once the cigar was lit it was immediately present and delivering lots of taste and complexity. My cigar had a bit of a burn issue in the 2nd half. Luckily it recoved well and I enjoyed it untill the end. I must say it had a bit of an etherel touch to it which was very interessting but not very typical in my opinion, but maybe it was the tea notes because of its nice age!

I’m left to thank Lestat for this excellent Partagas Coronas, for sharing his impressions and the company that evening! As always a pure pleasure and very inspiring! Thank you. As for the others not beeing able to join we already have set a new date and you can read another tasting of the titans here soon! πŸ™‚
